This lot is the production of farmers from the Bedesa village in Gedeb, Yirgacheffe, where farms are located outside the village at altitudes ranging from 2050 to 2150 meters. The cherries are carefully sourced from local farmers in the surrounding area and, after sorting and floating, are left to dry on African raised beds over a period of 12 to 15 days.

We chose Bedesa for it sweet and floral qualities, highlighting the things we like best about Ethiopian coffee, while supporting local schemes committed to ethical sourcing and community development. Ephtah Coffee is particularly dedicated to empowering women in coffee through its Ama Commitment initiative, which provides female farmers with pre-financing, drying infrastructure at Lalesa as well as helping renew and upkeep third-party partner stations, and tailored training.
