La Morena is Volcafe's Women produced coffee project in Guatemala working with over 900 women farmers in Huehuetenango.

According to Volcafe:

The farmers were first identified through regional coffee competitions where they were able to become familiar with the farming practices recommended through the programme, and where our team were able to get to know the different qualities available, and the women who produced them.

Workshops can be organised at their farms with the support of our local team and knowledge is shared with the other members of the programme. The work focusses on improved quality and yield, farm management, pest control and financial acumen.
